Oysters, burgers and Japanese ice cream: 8 restaurants to know in Collin County this week

Openings, moves, and new patios in Plano, McKinney and more.

Fogo de Chão in Plano will open its remodeled patio by the end of the year. A company representative says the patio will now be enclosed with new seating and décor. 5908 Headquarters Drive, Ste. K150 in Plano at Legacy West, fogodechao.com.

Twisted Root has opened its Plano location. Launched in Deep Ellum in 2006 and featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in 2009, the burger joint with gamey patties including ostrich and camel has a new spot at 1212 14th St. More info at twistedrootburgerco.com.

Half-Shells Oyster Bar & Grill will relocate to a larger space across the street by the end of the year, Community Impact reports. Currently located at the Shops at Legacy in Plano, the restaurant is moving across the street to a larger space at 7201 Bishop Road, Ste. E4. fishcitygrill.com.

Desi District has expanded to McKinney and is holding a grand opening celebration this week. 3400 Collin McKinney Pkwy., McKinney. Another restaurant is planned for Frisco soon.

Two Señoritas, a Mexican restaurant and cantina from Mount Pleasant, is adding a second location in McKinney next year located at 1222 N. Central Expressway. General manager Juan Esquerre told Community Impact the grand opening will be Jan. 11. twosenoritasrestaurant.com.

A Japanese restaurant chain specializing in curry, dumplings, and omelets, CoCo Ichibanya will open its first Texas location in Frisco next year. Located at 9351 Warren Parkway, Ste. 125, ichibanyausa.com.

Cafe Gecko, a Caribbean cafe in Addison that opened in late 1991, officially closed this month, but CEO Dennis Dial plans to move the bar to downtown Plano and reopen in 2022, reports Sarah Blaskovich.
