OOMI Digital Kitchen is now open on Ross Avenue in Dallas

You’ll find 10+ restaurant brands to choose from.

Restaurateur Markus Pineyro is by no means a stranger to the Dallas food scene. He founded Urban Taco, and his latest venture is OOMI, a digital food hall that focuses on putting “food first.”

“We’re focusing on really curating high-quality food and not just focusing on big-name restaurants and chains,” Pineyro says.

OOMI Digital Kitchen, which opened on Nov. 21, 2022 on Ross Avenue, combines Pineyro’s two loves of technology and food, allowing customers to order whatever they are craving with just the simple click of a button.

OOMI will also offer its own in-house digital food brands such as “Hot Lips Asian Grub” and “Savage Rabbit” that feature menu offerings made in collaboration with local chefs.

Pineyro mentions how this vast variety of options is at the core of OOMI’s business model.

“Optionality, that’s the core of our model,” he says. “We’re very selective on what brands we brought on board and what brands we created.”

Customers will be able to order from the many options available at OOMI through both pick-up and delivery options, providing an extra level of convenience.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, there has been a surge in using third-party delivery apps to get food delivered directly to consumers’ doorsteps, but it’s pricey.

“It’s just about providing that next level of convenience for customers, and also lowering the fees that are getting astronomical by the day,” Pineyro says.

Pineyro’s goals are not just to provide a quality and convenient experience for customers, he wants to innovate and positively impact the Dallas food scene.

Pineyro is also using a unique way to deliver food that is not only cheap for customers but is fast and effective without compromising the quality. By using smart pods located in high-density buildings such as apartment complexes, office buildings and college campuses, customers that order directly from the OOMI Digital Kitchen mobile app will be charged a cheaper delivery fee in comparison to third-party delivery services.

OOMI’s central location near downtown Dallas makes it an accessible and ideal spot for a range of customers from young families to working professionals.

“It’s extremely central, it’s very easy to get in and out of and close to two major highways,” Pineyro says. “We’re able to get people in and out fairly quickly and we can even reach up to SMU, which is another part of our demographic.”
