Las Almas Rotas will open a pop-up location in Dallas’ Oak Cliff neighborhood from September 27 through October 20 during the Texas State Fair weekends.
The intention is to serve its long-time customers in a quiet location, away from the crowds of people who will be visiting the Fair during these four weeks.
“We are going to do a four-weekend stint over there, and we actually have a horse trailer that we converted into a mobile bar,” said Jay Pyle, Las Almas Rotas’ general manager.
The pop-up location will be at 700 W. Davis Ave. in Oak Cliff and will operate Fridays from 5 to 10 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 10 p.m., between Sept. 27 and Oct. 20 only.
The main Las Almas Rotas location is situated at 3615 Parry Ave. in Dallas — just across the street from a Fair Park entrance to Fair Park. That means thousands of people walk past its doors during fair. (That also means the home location will remain open during normal hours.)
“The fair, while it’s amazing and it’s great for Dallas, a lot of our regular clientele don’t really like to go in during the fair, and we still want to be accessible to our faithful patrons,” said Pyle.
In 2023, the State Fair of Texas attracted 2.3 million people, and many of them come to Las Almas Rotas in search of drinks and food after spending a day at the fair.
“We get different business (during the fair). We still see a steady stream of people,” said Pyle. “It’s just the people that we hold so near and dear, that support us throughout the year, we don’t really get to see during that time. We wanted to offer a pop-up experience to them and everyone.”
The Las Almas Rotas pop-up location will offer six different cocktails and beer on tap. It will also have food, such as burrito bowls and tacos.
The main Las Almas Rotas location is at 3615 Parry Ave. in Dallas. The temporary pop-up location will be at 700 W. Davis Ave. in Dallas.
