At Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages (CCSWB), building lasting and fulfilling careers is integral to the company’s culture. Associates, affectionately known as Heroes, can grow, thrive and contribute to both the company and the local community. At the core of CCSWB’s operations is the belief that culture plays a significant part in the organization’s overall success. When associates are thriving and given opportunities to grow, the organization becomes better positioned to serve clients both large and small across Texas, and parts of Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arkansas. Whether associates are just starting in the workforce or looking to wrap up the end of a long career, there are endless opportunities for professional growth and development at CCSWB.
For associates at the beginning of their careers, CCSWB invests in programs like its in-house CDL Academy, designed to help associates enter a successful driving career. Launched in 2022, the CDL Academy provides eligible associates with the opportunity to obtain their Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This initiative not only supports the company’s needs for drivers, but also serves as a pathway for career advancement, reinforcing CCSWB’s commitment to professional development, associate safety and long-term growth.
The opportunities continue for associates further along in their careers. Christina Griffin, for example, is a testament to the opportunities CCSWB provides for associates to advance and thrive. Christina began her journey with CCSWB as a driver, navigating her large semi-truck throughout West Texas on weekly routes in the Midland-Odessa area. Today, she serves customers in a different capacity: as route sales manager. Christina’s promotion and professional development is only one example of CCSWB’s efforts to support associates at all stages of their careers.
This culture of growth and recognition extends across CCSWB, from new drivers to employees who have dedicated decades of service. The company’s newly-launched “Under the Cap” (UTC) series highlights these inspiring stories, showcasing CCSWB heroes who have a deep connection to the communities they serve. Take, for example, Hector Gonzalez, a driver in San Antonio who has spent more than 54 years with the company. His story, along with many others shared through the UTC series, illustrates how CCSWB nurtures fulfilling careers that allow associates to express their passions both within and outside the workplace.
To celebrate the achievements of associates like Hector and Christina, CCSWB hosts its annual Service Gala, an event that honors associates who have contributed 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 or more years to the company. This year, the gala took place in the heart of Dallas at the Hilton Anatole, where long-serving associates were joined by their loved ones for an unforgettable evening. At the celebration, which included a seated dinner and live music each associate was recognized on stage for their contributions to the company. The gala reflects CCSWB’s commitment to encouraging long-term careers, creating a culture where employees are celebrated and empowered at every stage of their journey.
Through recognition events like the Service Gala, professional development opportunities like the CDL Academy and the inspiring stories shared through the UTC series, CCSWB is dedicated to building a workplace where associates are supported in their career at all stages. This culture of recognition, growth and individuality makes Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages an exceptional place to build a lasting career. From the first steps of a new recruit in the CDL Academy to the milestones celebrated at the Service Gala, CCSWB ensures that every associate’s journey is valued, and every story is celebrated.
