Enter for a chance to win a Valentine’s Day date in Dallas for two

Nothing says ‘love’ quite like a special romantic experience

Love is in the air! Or is that love mixed with a little bit of panic? There’s a Goldilocks dilemma: You are looking for a restaurant that’s not too expensive — but not too cheap. Not too fancy — but not the same place you visit every few weeks.

Not to worry, our expert food and restaurant news writer, Sarah Blaskovich party-planned a three-stop evening in Dallas on Valentine’s Day that’ll check all of those boxes. And how about one more perk: Your dining adventure will be free!

Enter our Valentine’s Day date contest below, and we’ll pick one lucky couple to embark on a lovely Dallas evening. On the first stop, the winners will pick up a $200 gift card that can be used to pay for the whole evening.

Here’s the itinerary:

5:30 p.m. Feb. 14: Park or valet on Lowest Greenville and start the evening with a glass of wine at Leela’s Wine Bar. This sweet little neighborhood bar is one of our favorite places to stop in before dinner for a drink and a snack.

6:30 p.m. Feb. 14: Walk a block or two north on Greenville to Quarter Acre, where you’ve got a reservation in your name. Quarter Acre is a brand-new restaurant run by New Zealand chef Toby Archibald, who most recently operated the kitchen at Dallas restaurant Georgie, which is co-owned by celebrity chef Curtis Stone. Order anything you want at Quarter Acre, as there’s no set menu on Valentine’s Day. (We much prefer that.) We recommend trying the kingfish ceviche or clams in white wine sauce, followed by the ricotta gnudi or the beef short rib with potatoes and mushrooms. Try to keep yourself from ordering dessert. Because ...

8-9 p.m. Feb. 14: — or whenever dinner is finished: Walk across the street to Botolino Gelato Artigianale, a shop that sells what we believe to be Dallas’ best gelato. Owner Carlo Gattini and his staff will be happy to offer you samples, so try something you haven’t had before, like the olive oil gelato. Get your scoops and grab two barstools near the window to watch the hubbub on Greenville Avenue as you finish your final course.

Doesn’t that sound like a charming evening — one that didn’t require agonizing over where to go or how to get in?
