The lefty had 107 strikeouts for the 5A Region I finalist and boasted a 0.46 ERA. D’Angelo, a Weatherford College signee, finished with a 10-2 pitching record. He was the District 7-5A Utility Player of the Year.

Michael Catalano

Frisco, Sr.

Catalano was the District 9-5A MVP and a THSBCA All Star. The Oklahoma signee had a .540 ERA and posted a 7-1 record for the 5A Region II semifinalist. He also hit .387.

Spencer Coon

Celina, Sr.

Finishing 10-0 as a starter for the 4A Region II finalist, Coon collected 106 strikeouts in 69.2 innings. The Navarro College pledge was a THSBCA second-team all-state selection and finished his senior season with a 1.31 ERA.

Max Stammel

Highland Park, Sr.

A Duke signee, Stammel struck out 84 batters in just 41.1 innings. The THSBCA All Star had a 1.53 ERA and 1.167 WHIP. He was the 2023 District 7-6A MVP.

First-team catcher

Luke Billings

Prosper, Jr.

Named to The News’ first team for a consecutive year, Billings hit .341 with eight singles, 16 doubles, a triple and six home runs. He had 21 RBIs, 16 runs and 40 walks. He earned first-team all-state honors and was The News’ 2022 Newcomer of the Year.

Major Brignon

Celina, SS, Sr.

A THSBCA All Star, Brignon hit .376 and scored 30 runs for the 4A Region II finalist. He hit four home runs and had 48 RBIs. The Louisiana-Monroe signee was the District 11-4A MVP.

Jarett Boswell

Grapevine, 1B, Jr.

He hit the walk-off RBI single that lifted Grapevine to a 6-5 victor over Lovejoy in the 5A state championship game. Boswell was named the MVP of the title game and of District 7-5A. The first-team all-state selection hit .398 with 13 doubles, two triples and a home run. Scoring 34 runs, Boswell had 38 RBIs and stole nine bases.

Austin Gathright

Frisco, 2B, Sr.

With a .473 batting average ahead of the playoffs, Gathright hit over .400 for a consecutive season. The Ouachita Baptist signee was the District 9-5A Defensive Player of the Year and was a first-team all-state honoree.

Ryan Williams

Grapevine, 3B, Sr.

Williams hit .373 with 14 doubles, four triples and three home runs for the 5A state champion. His team-high 44 RBIs made him Grapevine’s all-time RBI leader. He played in the THSBCA All-Star game and was the District 7-5A Offensive Player of the Year.

Sam Erickson

Flower Mound, Sr.

A star on offense for the 2023 6A state champion and 2024 state semifinalist, Erickson hit .388 this season. The Texas A&M pledge had three home runs and 17 RBIs. He picked up District 6-6A first-team and THSBCA all-state honors.

Lash Henderson

Prestonwood Christian, Fr.

In his first high school season, Henderson starred for the TAPPS Division 1 state semifinalist. His district’s Offensive Player of the Year, Henderson had a .393 batting average with 19 singles, six doubles, a triple and seven home runs. Henderson, a first-team all-state selection, finished the season with 26 RBIs and 28 runs.

Sammy Kelley

Grapevine, Sr.

A member of the 2024 UIL state all-tournament team, Kelley hit .383 for the 5A state champion. The Tyler Junior College commitment had 15 doubles, six triples and three home runs. Kelley, a third-team all-state honoree, tallied 22 RBIs, 22 stolen bases and 51 runs.

First-team utility

Caleb Hoover

Rockwall-Heath, P/ 1B, Sr.

The District 10-6A MVP — a first-team infielder last season — posted a .348 batting average for the 6A Region II semifinalist. Hoover hit 14 doubles, four triples and two home runs, driving in 33. He drew 45 walks as a batter, but only walked 19 on the mound. In 57.1 innings pitched, the THSBCA All-Star struck out 82 batters and posted a 1.02 ERA. Hoover is an Oklahoma State commitment.

Trent Vilade

Prestonwood Christian, P/ 1B, So.

On the mound for the TAPPS Division I state semifinalist, Vilade boasted a 0.75 ERA, a .915 WHIP and 65 strikeouts over 47 innings. At the plate, the sophomore hit .392 with 19 singles, seven doubles, two triples and three home runs. The first-team all-state selection and TAPPS 1-II MVP finished the season with 32 RBIs and 14 runs.

Josh Glaser

Flower Mound, P/1B, Sr.

A 6A state semifinalist and the District 6-6A MVP, Glaser hit .367 and had 27 RBIs. The Texas State pledge was a first-team all-state pitcher, posting a 13-2 pitching record and 1.88 ERA.

AJ RipleyRichardson PearcePSr.McLennan Community college commitment had 105 strikeouts and a 1.51 ERA for the 6A Region I finalist. District 7-6A MVP boasted an 8-1 record and was third-team all-state.
AJ DePaoloPrestonwood ChristianCSr.Vanderbilt pledge hit .461 with 30 singles, five doubles, two triples, four home runs and 32 RBIs for the TAPPS Division I state semifinalist. Scored 39 runs and was first-team all-state.
Kyle BranchLovejoySSSr.Oklahoma signee hit .379 with four home runs and 27 RBIs for the 5A state finalist. Earned first-team all-district, second-team all-state and UIL state all-tournament team honors.
Kingston HangartnerCelina1BSr.Northern Oklahoma College commitment had a .260 average, hitting eight home home runs and posting 44 RBIs for the 4A Region II finalist.
Jabin MooreRockwall-Heath2BSr.District 10-6A Newcomer of the Year hit .341 with seven doubles, two home runs and 23 RBIs. Grayson College pledge had 41 runs and 18 stolen bases.

Benjamin SheppardForneyUTILSr.Dallas College-Eastfield pledge was second-team all-state as first baseman. Hit .345 with 29 singles, five doubles, three triples, a home run and 30 RBIs for the 5A Region II finalist. Had a 0.70 ERA and 63 strikeouts as a pitcher.
Logan CorleyLovejoyUTILSo.Served as a pitcher and right fielder for the 5A state finalist. TCU pledge hit .324 and had 23 RBIs. He had a 1.87 ERA and 87 strikeouts, earning District 13-5A MVP honors and a spot on the UIL state all-tournament team.
Kaden LongNorth MesquiteUTILSr.A two-time district MVP who pitched and played in the outfield, Long had six home runs, 23 RBIs and 20 stolen bases. He hit .500 and was 9-0 as a pitcher with a 0.48 ERA and 78 strikeouts.
