This week’s Texas Association of Basketball Coaches rankings are out, which can be viewed in full here. All overall records are via the TABC.
Here are some takeaways we noticed from this week’s rankings:
Girls rankings
UIL
- Cedar Hill (14-7) moved into the top 25 as the No. 23 overall team. They were scheduled to have a game against DeSoto, the No. 2 overall team, last week, but DeSoto forfeited the game due to the school being cautious because of past physical altercations.
- DeSoto was involved in a fight with Duncanville on Jan. 23 that led to one player from each team being ejected, and DeSoto was also involved in an incident with Cedar Hill when the teams played Jan. 8.
- McKinney North (19-5) joined the 5A top 25 as the No. 24 overall team. They have a 12-2 district record, with both losses coming to Wylie East, the No. 12 team in the 5A top 25. McKinney North fell in double overtime to Wylie East in its most recent game.

TAPPS
- The 5A, 4A, 3A and 1A polls stayed the exact same as last week. The only movement from 6A was Houston Episcopal climbing from No. 9 to No. 6, which caused teams 7-9 to shuffle. Prestonwood Christian (11-8) moved up one spot.
