Meet some of the Dallas-area’s top 2024 boys basketball recruits

Carrollton Newman Smith’s Nic Codie is the top-ranked recruit in Texas for the Class of 2024.

Most people in the high school basketball world know who Tre Johnson is.

The senior helped Lake Highlands to a 6A state championship last season before transferring to Missouri prep school Link Academy for his last year of high school. Johnson is a 6-6, 190-pound five-star shooting guard who signed with Texas. He is in the running for the 2024 McDonald’s All American Game, and more than 35,000 accounts follow the teen on Instagram.

With a resume like Johnson, it would be hard to go unnoticed. But Johnson, the nation’s fifth-best player, is not the only big name prospect who hails from the Dallas area.
