First team

Dillon Battie, Lancaster

Senior, F, 6-8

After missing out on the state tournament last season, the Temple signee was determined to win a state title for Lancaster this year. He accomplished that mission in Lancaster’s dominant 59-30 win over Killeen Ellison in the 5A state championship. With 17 points, 19 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and a steal in the title game, Battie was named the MVP of the contest and earned a UIL 5A all-tournament team honor. On the season, the three-star recruit averaged 17.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.3 steals and a block. Battie scored his 1,000th career point in January and picked up a Texas Association of Basketball Coaches 5A All-State honor after Lancaster’s state run.

DJ Hall, Plano East

Junior, F, 6-7

Despite playing for a balanced Plano East team that became an undefeated state champion, Hall stood out during the program’s magical run. The three-star junior finished with a team-leading 18 points in Plano East’s 53-41 win over Round Rock Stony Point for the 6A state championship. He also had eight boards and shot 53% from the field. The District 6-6A co-MVP averaged 15.7 points, 7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals ahead of the state tournament. He picked up UIL 6A all-tournament team and TABC 6A all-state honors for his performance this season. Hall holds an offer from Texas State.

Doryan Onwuchekwa, Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy

Senior, C, 6-11

The four-star senior, who recently announced his commitment to Georgia Tech after decommitting from Colorado in February, helped Faith Family 3-peat as 4A state champs. Onwuchekwa had 19 points and 14 rebounds in the Oak Cliff-based charter school’s 80-66 win over Silsbee in the title game. The McDonald’s All-American nominee averaged a double-double this season with 16 points and 10 rebounds per game. The UIL 4A all-tournament team and TABC 4A all-state honoree also averaged two blocks and shot 38% from three.

Brooks Bahr, Keller

Senior, G, 6-4

Bahr averaged 18.5 points, 6.3 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game for 6A Region I finalist Keller before he missed the postseason because of injury. The three-star senior signed with BYU in November and earned a McDonald’s All-American nomination. Helping lead Keller to a district championship, Bahr was named the District 4-6A MVP and picked up a TABC 6A all-state honor despite an injury-plagued senior season.

Kayden “Bugg” Edwards, Duncanville

Junior, G, 6-3

Tasked with stepping up after the departures of five-star Ron Holland, the nation’s top recruit, and other Division I talents on Duncanville’s mythical national championship team last season, Edwards showed he has the ability to lead the program. Duncanville, which exited the playoffs in the second round this year after winning 11 straight games to close the regular season, didn’t get the ending it hoped. But Edwards, named the District 11-6A co-MVP, thrived, averaging 23.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists a game. The twitchy four-star with offers from Texas, Arkansas and others, shot 46.5% from the field and 37.6% from three. Edwards scored more than 30 points in six games and earned a TABC 6A All-State honor.

Luke Laczkowski, St. Mark’s

Junior, F, 6-7

Laczkowski scored almost 700 points alone this season and eclipsed the 1,000-point career mark early this year. For the SPC 4A state runner-up, the three-star prospect averaged 24 points and nine rebounds per game. He was named to the TABC Large Private School All-State team and earned SPC all-conference honors for the second consecutive year. The son of two college athletes, Laczkowski is the youngest of three. His two older brothers both play Division I basketball. St. Mark’s coach Greg Guiler said he is confident Laczkowski will shatter the school’s all-time scoring record set by his oldest brother.

The explosive four-star sophomore averaged 14 points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block for the 5A Region II semifinalist. The District 9-5A MVP and TABC 5A All-State honoree holds offers from Texas and TCU, among others. He is Texas’ top-ranked player in the Class of 2026, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

He averaged 22 points, 2.1 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals this season. Grace scored more than 30 points three times this year. For his efforts, Grace earned first team all-district and TABC 6A All-State honors.

McMillian, a three-star prospect with offers from Troy and UT-Arlington, averaged 12.9 points, 3.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game this year.
