See the 16 former Dallas-area stars who are on opening-day NBA rosters

The list includes three All-Stars, an NBA champion and six other players who were first-round draft picks.

The NBA season started Tuesday, and opening day rosters included 16 players from Dallas-area schools, according to MaxPreps.

It would be hard to find a more successful area nationwide than D-FW.

There are three All-Stars among the list of local NBA players — the 76ers’ Tyrese Maxey (South Garland), the Timberwolves’ Julius Randle (Plano Prestonwood Christian) and the Pacers’ Pascal Siakam (God’s Academy in Lake Dallas). The Grizzlies’ Marcus Smart, from Flower Mound Marcus, was the NBA’s defensive player of the year in the 2021-22 season.

The Pacers’ Myles Turner, from Euless Trinity, was a first-round pick in 2015.
