The Dallas Morning News is looking for freelancers to help its unrivaled live coverage of high school football.

The Dallas Morning News sports department seeks help to produce statistics and stories for high school football games for the upcoming season. We are looking for candidates who already live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

High School Sports

The latest news, analysis, predictions and more for each season.

Or with:

The job includes:

— Traveling to a game with a laptop and wireless internet card (we provide these).

— Inputting live play-by-play statistics.

— Writing a short recap on the game.

— The ability to take pictures and video on a smartphone if asked.

— Mandatory online paid training sessions. The number of sessions and dates is to be determined.

Candidates should have the following:

— A passion and understanding of high school football rules and statistics.

— Fast, accurate computer skills and the ability to take stats by hand if needed.

— Drive to get it right, get it quickly.

— Ability to write effectively on deadline.

— Ability to commute in and around the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
