DeSoto 3-star linebacker Brandon Booker decommits from Stanford

Booker had 144 tackles and four interceptions in 2022 for 6A Division II state champion DeSoto.

Three-star DeSoto linebacker Brandon Booker announced on Sunday that he was withdrawing his commitment to Stanford.

Booker is rated the 27th-best overall recruit and the second-best linebacker in the Dallas area in the Class of 2024 by The Dallas Morning News. He is ranked as the 60th-best linebacker in the nation, according to the 247Sports composite ratings.


In 2022 Booker (6-2, 205) had 144 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, four interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries as DeSoto went 14-2 and won the Class 6A Division II state championship. He had 1.5 tackles for loss in the state championship game, a 42-17 win over Austin Vandegrift.

He’s part of a DeSoto team that’s started out 2-0 in 2023.

Booker had previously committed to Baylor, but swapped his commitment to Stanford in June.


Booker list 16 college offers, with schools including Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Florida State, LSU, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, SMU, Texas A&M and Texas Tech.
