One of the leaders from Trophy Club Byron Nelson’s standout 2022 team is headed out west.
Rising senior Eze Osondu announced on Twitter Tuesday night that he’ll continue his playing career at California. He chose the program over four others — Arkansas State, Colgate, Liberty and Miami (OH).

The 6-foot-1, 215-pounder is unranked by 247sports and did not receive his first college offer until March.
He finished his junior season at Byron Nelson with 39 tackles, eight tackles for loss, seven sacks and one forced fumble while playing both linebacker and defensive end.
Byron Nelson finished 11-2 overall and 6-1 (second place) in District 4-6A. It reached the third round of the playoffs behind one of the most explosive offenses in the Dallas area — which led the region in total offense, scoring and passing.
Osondu is the fourth commit in California’s 2024 class and the second from Texas, joining Austin Westlake offensive lineman Tyler Knape.
