PROSPER -- Prosper junior Prentice Sanders returned the game's opening kickoff 89 yards for a touchdown and Prosper (5-1, 2-1 District 5-6A) never looked back, scoring on its first eight possessions in a 59-6 victory against Little Elm on Friday at Children's Health Stadium.
After Sanders' electrifying kickoff return, Prosper senior quarterback Harrison Rosar and senior receiver Hunter Summers combined for 35 of Prosper's next 38 points. Rosar finished the first half 13-of-17 passing for 203 yards and six touchdowns. For the season, Rosar, who didn't play in the second half, has thrown 19 touchdown passes and only three interceptions.
Summers, who caught touchdown passes of four, eight, 17, 30, and 20 yards, had eight receptions for 121 yards and five touchdowns in the first half, his 4th 100-yard receiving game of the season.
Prosper, which had six offensive plays of 20 or more yards in the first half, led 59-0 at halftime.
Little Elm (1-5, 0-3) broke the shutout when junior running back Kendall Johnson scampered into the end zone from one yard out with 9:41 left in the game. Little Elm junior running back Semaj Jordan-Rector finished with 95 yards rushing on 18 carries.
