RICHARDSON – Richardson Pearce running back Christian Baker rushed for 61 yards and three touchdowns, helping Pearce pick up its third-straight win with a 28-14 victory over cross-town rival Richardson in District 7-6A play on Thursday night at Eagle-Mustang Stadium.

Richardson Pearce (3-4, 3-2 in 7-6A) led from the opening snap, getting two of Baker’s touchdowns in the opening half for a 14-0 halftime lead. Pearce eventually pushed its lead to 28-0 midway through the third quarter on a 96-yard kick return by Jack McGarry and a 3-yard run by Baker.

Richardson (2-4, 1-3) rallied back with a pair of scoring drives, cutting the deficit to 28-14 on a 17-yard pass by Cole Cage to Evan Tabora with 9:06 left in the fourth quarter. However the Pearce defense forced a pair of turnovers to help secure the game, including an interception by Clark Wilson with just over a minute remaining.

Pearce’s Andrew Casagrande rushed for a game-high 73 yards in the win, with Richardson’s other touchdown coming in the third quarter on a 5-yard run by Donovan Ford.
