WYLIE — Jagger Bale had a touchdown pass and reception to lead Wylie to a 28-10 win over Garland Friday night.

Wylie (7-3, 6-2 in 9-6A) jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter before Garland (5-5, 4-4) scored 10 unanswered in the second.

With a four-point lead in the third, Bale led Wylie on an 8-play, 56-yard scoring drive to extend their lead in the third. On their next possession, Wylie marched down the field and killed plenty of clock doing so as Layne Chapman scored his second touchdown of the game from three yards out.

Garland had multiple chances in the fourth quarter to trim into the lead, but interceptions by Sean Carter and Bryan Washington halted any momentum late in the game. The loss eliminates Garland from postseason contention.

Wylie faces Mesquite Horn in the bi-district round of the state playoffs.
