LEWISVILLE – Quarterback Ethan Terrell opened up Lewisville’s running game leading to a 44-7 win over Mesquite. Terrell finished the night with 12 carries for 155 yards and two rushing touchdowns while passing for another score.

Viron Ellison also kept the rushing game hot for Lewisville rushing for 103 yards on 15 carries and a score. Terrell and Ellison helped Lewisville (2-1) compile 491 total yards. Meanwhile, the Lewisville defense was keeping a high-scoring Mesquite offense (which averaged 40.5 points a game in their first two games) to just 182 total yards.

After Terrell scored on a time-consuming first drive to open the game, Lewisville was able to control the game and the clock, posting a 26-0 halftime lead.

With the Lewisville rushing tandem playing a ball control game, the defense recovered a fumble and had two interceptions from Tony-Louis Nkuba.

Late in the game, Mesquite (1-2) scored on an Armand Cleaver determined run. Quarterback Tyrique Womack was 11-of-16 for 107 yards passing.
