ROYSE CITY -- In a game that featured 10 lead changes, over 1,000 yards of total offense and four touchdowns in the final four minutes of the game, it was Royse City quarterback Kenneth Spring who got the one that mattered, scoring on a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:04 remaining to give Royse City a 43-38 victory over Mesquite in District 10-6A play Friday night at Royse City ISD Stadium.

Mesquite's comeback attempt ended with 10 seconds left as Royse City defender Breylon Harris had the game-sealing interception.

Royse City (4-3, 2-1) was led by running back Sam Mitchum, who ran for 181 yards and two scores, while also adding a receiving touchdown. Spring threw for 195 yards and ran for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Jonah Roberson also ran for a 49-yard score.

Mesquite (3-5, 1-3) receiver Jamarion Woods finished with 14 receptions for 229 yards and four touchdowns, including a go-ahead score with 1:41 remaining to give Mesquite a 38-35 lead before Spring got the eventual game-winner.
