FRISCO — Van Alstyne erased a 17-point fourth quarter deficit in the final five minutes of the game to inch past Frisco Lebanon Trail 30-26 on Friday at David Kuykendall Stadium.

Van Alstyne quarterback Weston Johnston threw three fourth quarter touchdowns to lead his team's comeback. The go-ahead touchdown came on a 2-yard Johnston pass to wide receiver Jackson Allen with 40 seconds remaining in the fourth after Van Alstyne recovered their own blocked field goal attempt to extend the drive.

Frisco Lebanon Trail quarterback Matthew Robison recorded 201 total yards as well as two total touchdowns and Frisco Lebanon Trail’s special teams scored on an 86-yard block field goal return by Jamaal Pumphrey. The Van Alstyne defense forced a fumble with 22 seconds left to secure the victory.
