DENTON — Tay'lon Jackson ran in a 42-yard touchdown with 3:42 remaining in the game as Little Elm came back to beat Denton Braswell 29-28 on Friday night.

With both teams battling cold, rainy conditions all night, Braswell (2-7, 0-6 District 5-6A) held a 21-6 lead at the break. Down 28-14 with 3:55 left in the contest, Little Elm (2-7, 1-5) scored via a 17-yard Jaydon Perine rush.

A recovered onside kick set up Jackson's 42-yard touchdown run. Little Elm took the lead with a 2-point rush by quarterback Kellen Tasby to give the team its first lead of the night.

A fumble recovered by an errant victory formation snap by Little Elm gave Braswell the ball back with 30 seconds remaining. However, Braswell quarterback Keegan Byrd fumbled the first play of the drive resulting in a Little Elm recovery that ended the game.

Braswell's top performer on the night was running back Michael Newell, who rushed for 282 yards and three touchdowns. Little Elm took home its first win in district play while Braswell remains winless in 5-6A as its final game of the season looms next week.
