ARLINGTON – Javeon Madison and Jaylon Woods ran for two scores each as Mansfield Timberview rolled past Arlington Sam Houston 69-14 at Choctaw Stadium.
Timberview (2-0) scored on nine of its 10 possessions. Titus Evans caught two first-half touchdown passes, one each from Zuric Humes and Cameron Bates, who alternated drives at quarterback.
Timberview’s Jeremiah Williams recovered two fumbles in the Sam Houston backfield before halftime, leading directly to a pair of Timberview touchdowns. Jordan Sanford returned an interception for a score in the second half.
The second fumble came at the Sam Houston 22-yard line with eight seconds remaining in the first half. Humes connected with Savion McKinnon in the end zone on the ensuing play, giving Timberview a 42-7 halftime lead.
Daniel Adenugba tallied six receptions for a game-high 109 yards and a touchdown to lead Sam Houston (0-2), which lost its seventh straight game overall.
