KELLER - Montanail Strozier ran for 108 yards on 10 carries with three touchdowns and Lior-jire Mendji threw for 254 yards as Keller Timber Creek (3-5, 2-3 District 4-6A) wiped out a 35-14 halftime deficit to surge past Haltom (0-8, 0-4) for a 49-41 win at Keller ISD Stadium.

Chukwudozie Ezukanma started the rally for Timber Creek by running back the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown. Strozier scored on a 10-yard touchdown run with 4:04 to play in the third quarter. He followed up with a 48-yard touchdown run on Timber Creek’s next series to tie the game at 35-35 heading into the fourth quarter.

Mendi’s 51-yard run on a third-down scramble set up Timber Creek at the Haltom 28 one minute into the fourth quarter. The play helped set up Strozier’s 8-yard touchdown run to give Timber Creek its first lead of the night. Mendji found Ezukanma for a 42-yard touchdown pass to put Timber Creek up 49-35 with 7:58 remaining.

Haltom’s Ashton Moore threw a 27-yard touchdown pass to Jaylon Mason to cut the deficit to 49-41 with 1:09 to play. Timber Creek recovered an onside kick and ran out the clock to finish off the win.

Moore connected with Keenen Railey on a pair of touchdown passes in the first quarter, covering 31 yards and 22 yards. Jeremiah Sanders took a lateral and threw a 24-yard touchdown to Mason as Haltom took a 21-point lead at the break.
