JUSTIN — Noah Lugo threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score to Talan Holmes on 3rd-and-34, leading Northwest Eaton to a 38-31 District 4-6A victory over Keller Timber Creek.

Tied 31-31 in the fourth quarter, Central’s Antwan Bridges recovered an Eaton fumble immediately following a missed field goal. However, a fumbled snap a few plays later led to Eaton’s drive that culminated with a Lugo's 48-yard touchdown pass to take the lead with 1:28 left. The Eaton (3-4, 2-2) defense then stopped Central on its ensuing possession.

Ahead 3-0 in the first quarter, Timber Creek (2-5, 1-3) quarterback Lior-jire Mendji threw a deep ball to Chukwudozie Ezukanma for a 58-yard touchdown to take an early 10-0 lead. Mendji threw for 392 yards in the loss, including 137 to Maddox Allbritton.

Late in the first quarter, after Central had just fumbled, Central defensive-back Levar Thornton stepped in front of a Lugo pass and returned it 90 yards for a touchdown.

After falling behind 17-0, Eaton got on the board after Noah Lugo scored on a 53-yard keeper on 4th-and-1. Lugo ran for 114 yards in the win. The ensuing possession, Mendji threw another deep ball, this time to Jahrid Hughes who scored from 63 yards out.
