FRISCO – Mateo Quattrin passed for 142 yards, a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown . Frisco Independence (3-0) won its game over Skyline 31-15 Friday at Forester Stadium.

Frisco Independence scored touchdowns in the first half all on defense and special teams. Senior Kolton had a 45-yard fumble return to make it 7-2 in the first quarter. On the ensuing kickoff Skyline fumbled the ball in the end zone and it was recovered by Frisco to make it 14 -2 at half time.

LaTraevian Freeman took over under center for Skyline (0-3) to begin the third quarter after Damontae Oliver hurt his ankle in the first half. Freeman, with 1:17 remaining in the quarter, connected with Brandon Barnes on an 8-yard touchdown pass to cut Independence's lead to 17-9. Freeman scored his second touchdown pass of the night in the fourth quarter, after connecting with senior wide receiver Julius Parker making the lead 17-15.

Quarttrin put the game out of reach though when he connected with West McKenzie on an 8-yard score. Jake Simpson was Independence's leading receiver, ending the night with 74 yards on four catches.
