CARROLLTON — Four first half rushing touchdowns from Chris Hughes powered Carrollton Newman Smith past Molina 52-13 on Friday at Standridge Stadium.

Newman Smith (3-2, 1-2 in 5-5A Div. I) had 411 yards of total offense, generating 246 of those yards on the ground. Hughes led Newman Smith ground attack with 138 yards on 20 carries, while Tyrin Blanson added 56 rushing yards on three carries. Blanson's 23-yard touchdown run gave Newman Smith a 52-6 advantage with 6:40 left in the fourth quarter.

Pierson Rougeau completed 7 of 10 pass attempts for 152 yards, adding 27 yards on the ground and a third-quarter touchdown run for Newman Smith. Demonte Greene was Rougeau’s top target, recording five catches for 111 yards. After a Molina safety in the second quarter, Greene returned a free kick 71 yards for a touchdown.

Adan Ochoa led Molina (1-5, 0-4) with 131 yards passing with one touchdown through the air. Robert Johnson scored both Molina touchdowns — a 3-yard run in the third quarter and a 14-yard catch with under a minute remaining in the game.
