FRISCO-Frisco Lone Star senior quarterback Bennett Fryman threw for 327 yards and six touchdowns as Lone Star (3-2, 1-2 District 6-5A Division I) got its first district win, 69-14 against Frisco Liberty on Thursday at Ford Center.

Fryman was 10-for-13 passing for 266 yards and five scores in the opening half for Lone Star, which led 48-0 at halftime. Fryman completed passes to eight different receivers, including two touchdown passes to senior wide receiver Chris Viveros, who had two catches for 57 yards and two scores, both in the first half. Lone Star found the end zone on seven of its eight first-half possessions and on 11 of 12 drives overall.

Liberty (0-6, 0-4) broke through with 52 seconds remaining in the third quarter when senior running back Ethan Ashmore scored from 5 yards out. Liberty added a second score late when backup quarterback Jacob Nickell and freshman receiver Amarean Porter connected on a 37-yard scoring strike on what proved to be the final play of the game.

The Lone Star defense held Liberty to 196 total yards and 10 first downs. Lone Star also forced four Liberty turnovers, which the offense turned into 28 points, four punts and caused Liberty to turn the ball over on downs on its opening two possessions.
