South Oak Cliff had three quarterbacks throw for scores, three running backs run for touchdowns and three receivers catch touchdown passes as SOC sprinted past Samuel 56-0 Thursday night at Kincaide Stadium.
South Oak Cliff, the Class 5A Division II defending state champion, won its fifth straight game after starting the season 0-3 and remained undefeated in District 5-5AII at 4-0.
The South Oak Cliff defense, which touts five defensive players in SportsDay's Area Top 100 recruits, held Samuel (2-6 overall, 1-3) to just one first down, and that came by way of a SOC penalty. Samuel managed just 3 yards of total offense as South Oak Cliff, ranked No. 6 in SportsDay's Class 5A Area rankings, registered its fourth straight shutout.
As has been the case since it started district play, South Oak Cliff shuffled in three different quarterbacks. The starter, sophomore Carter Kopecky, was 2 for 2 for 69 yards and one touchdown. Tray Walton was 3 of 4 for 79 yards and two TDs while William Little was 4 of 6 for 89 yards a score.
K'Sean Jackson had two rushing TDs, while Rickey Evans and Tedrick Williams had scoring runs. Miles Johnson, Corinthean Coleman, and Joshua Manley all had TD receptions for South Oak Cliff, which put up 377 yards of total offense on a mere 23 plays.
