JUSTIN — Noah Lugo threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more, leading Northwest Eaton to a 42-7 District 4-6A victory and keeping its playoff hopes alive.
Lugo scored both of his touchdown runs in the third quarter, as Eaton pulled away after an early 7-0 deficit.
After Haltom scored on its opening possession, Eaton (4-5, 3-3) responded with a two-play scoring drive capped off by a 34-yard pass from Lugo to Talan Holmes.
The Eaton offense then began to click, scoring twice more in the second quarter to take a 21-7 lead into halftime. Those drives were finished by a Logan Wright 14-yard run and another Lugo touchdown pass, this time to Stanford commit Jaden Platt.
Holmes was Lugo’s top target for the evening, finishing with two receptions for 60 yards and two touchdowns. Ja’Mari Harris led Eaton with 102 rushing yards.
Haltom (0-8, 0-5) was led by Jaylen Mason with 75 receiving yards and a touchdown.
