Kaeden Landry rushed for 200 yards and four touchdowns as Carter cruised to a 55-7 win over Carrollton Ranchview Thursday night at Kincaide Stadium.

Carter (6-1 overall, 3-0 in District 7-4A Division I) had 426 yards of total offense, including 285 yards in the first half, in winning its fourth straight game.

Carter's defense was just as impressive as its offense, holding Ranchview (2-6, 1-3) to just 142 yards of total offense and forcing four turnovers. It was the third straight game that Carter had held its opponent to one score or fewer.

No. 5 in SportsDay's Class 4A/Other rankings, Carter turned the ball over twice - once on downs and once on a fumble - the first two times it had the ball before scoring on its next four possessions to take a 28-0 lead by halftime. Landry had TD runs of 5 and 13 yards in the first quarter. After intermission, he scored on runs of 36 and 35 yards. Landry, who came into the contest averaging 184 yards a game on the ground, has hit the 200-yard mark on three occasions this year.

Carter quarterback Camden Patterson chipped in 101 yards passing and 74 yards rushing and a score rushing before sitting out the second half with an injury.

Ranchview (2-6, 1-3) avoided the shutout when it scored on a 7-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Andrew Erlenbusch to Terry Shelton with 34 seconds left to go in the game.
