Senior linebacker Jaden Brown blocked a field goal attempt and returned it 54 yards to spark Cedar Hill (1-6, 1-3 District 11-6A) to its first win of the season 23-0 over Skyline (0-7, 0-4).
Cedar Hill, two years removed from a state championship appearance, held Skyline to 149 yards, and quarterback Anthohy Edwards threw for 205 yards and a 90-yard touchdown pass to Keione Bright that made it 23-0 with 59 seconds left in the third quarter.
Brown’s blocked field goal return led to a Cededrick Castleberry touchdown run.
Cedar Hill also scored on a 31-yard WR pass from Jordan Vincent to Jaylen Jenkins.
Skyline quarterback LaTraevian Freeman led his team with 88 yards passing and 23 yards rushing.
