Kaeden Landry ran for 259 yards and two scores on 26 carries to lead Carter past Pinkston 32-7 in its District 7-4AI opener on Friday night.
Carter (4-1, 1-0), which outgained Pinkston (4-2, 0-2) 429-176, steadily built its lead throughout the game after an early 7-7 tie.
Pinkston’s Camryi Childress threw a 46-yard touchdown pass to Dewayne Jackson in the first quarter, but Carter quarterback Camden Patterson threw touchdown passes on either side of halftime to give Carter a two-score cushion.
Patterson had 74 yards passing and 73 rushing. Childress led Pinkston with 97 yards rushing.
