THE COLONY – Carson Cox threw for 422 yards and five first-half touchdowns to lead The Colony past Azle 58-34 on Friday night in District 3-5AI play.

Cox completed touchdown passes of 13, 23, 80, 43 and 17 yards in the first half as The Colony (3-6, 3-4) raced out to a 41-13 lead. Alex Elam had nine catches for 209 yards and two scores to lead all receivers. Chase Glover had two touchdown receptions.

Running back Kamden Wesley had an 80-yard touchdown catch to go with 130 yards rushing and two scores on the ground.

Azle (2-6, 2-4) running back Vance Guthrie ran for 73 yards and two scores.
