Episcopal School of Dallas (2-0) Kicker Daniel Matthys kicked a 27-yard field goal with 33 seconds to beat Argyle Liberty Christian (1-1) 20-17, completing a come-from-behind win.

Liberty opened the second half with a 66-yard return by Quinton Brown, who would catch a slant in the endzone six plays later to put Liberty up 17-7. ESD quarterback Patrick Burke found tight end Teddy Sparrow for a 44-yard touchdown pass on the ensuing drive to cut the deficit to 17-14. Burke finished 19 of 32 with 237 yards and a touchdown through the air while rushing for 65 yards and a score. Blair Brennan had 10 catches for 141 yards.

Matthys hit a 41-yard field goal in the fourth to tie things up with 11:56 left in the game. Liberty threatened after an interception, and quarterback Jacob Vaughn hit Michael Stump for 29 yards putting Liberty in ESD territory. Stump finished with six receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown. But after a third-down stop, ESD blockeded a punt to set it up near midfield for the winning drive.

Liberty's final Hail Mary attempts failed, clinching the ESD victory. Vaughn finished 20 or 31 passing for 250 yards and two scores.
