McKINNEY- Colleyville Covenant (1-4) scored 21 points in the second quarter and never looked back in its 38-13 win over McKinney Christian (0-5) at Ron Poe Stadium Friday night.

Four-star defensive end Eno Etta took a MCA fumble 60 yards for a touchdown to begin the second quarter. Etta also added two sacks to his career total. Covenant quarterback Oliver Hautanen completed 21 passes on 29 attempts for 301 yards and two touchdowns, including a 43 yard Hail Mary to Noah Hill as time expired in the first half. Hill caught seven passes for 153 yards and that score. Receiver Weston Cox added to Covenant’s 402 yards of total offense finishing with seven catches for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Covenant’s heavy dose of running backs John Black and Ethan Williams helped it keep the clock moving in the second half. Black and Williams both scored one touchdown of their own and combined for 91 yards on the ground. Covenant’s defense intercepted four passes.

Noah Wheeler returned a kickoff 87 yards for McKinney Christian's first score.
