ADDISON -- Takashi Shaw ran for three touchdowns and Chance Snyder accounted for three more scores (two receiving and one rushing) as Trinity Christian Academy-Addison (1-5, 0-0, TAPPS 1-I) picked up its first win of the season with a convincing 39-21 over Fort Worth Southwest Christian (4-2, 0-0, TAPPS 1-II) in a non-district contest at Tom Landry Stadium.

Shaw, a sophomore, had first-quarter TD runs of five and 32 yards, then added another on a 54-yard scamper to begin the second half, finishing with a game-high 149 yards on 14 carries.

Snyder, a senior, bolted in from one-yard out 33 seconds before halftime to give TCA-Addison a 20-14 advantage at intermission. Snyder then followed Shaw's third-period TD run, hauling in scoring aerials of 51 and 38 yards from Aidan Mills as TCA-Addison opened a commanding 39-14 lead.

Mills finished with 241 passing yards (completing 14 of 20 passes), while Snyder totaled a game-high 148 yards on four receptions.

Southwest Christian, No. 8 in the current SportsDayHS Private School area rankings, was led by Christian Wells, a transfer from Colleyville Covenant Christian who is the son of former Major League Baseball standout Vernon Wells. A senior, Wells recorded TD receptions of 81 and 36 yards -- in a span of 16 seconds -- from quarterback Maddox McCarroll, in the second quarter that, at the time, knotted the score at 14-14. Wells caught all four of Southwest Christian's completed passes for 118 yards. Antwuan Polk had a team-high 85 rushing yards on 19 attempts for Southwest Christian, scoring on an 11-yard TD early in the final stanza.
