Duncanville boys soccer coach Nuno Passos will leave the program to become the new boys soccer coach at Euless Trinity, he told The Dallas Morning News on Tuesday.
Passos spent 15 years at Duncanville and led the program to its first state tournament appearance since 1986. A perennial district champion, Duncanville finished 20–3–3 this past season and fell to Katy Seven Lakes in the 2024 6A boys state semifinal.
“Arriving as a wide-eyed 35-year-old, I was eager and had a dream to lead this program back to state prominence, while making an impact in the lives of my players in the game of life!” Passos wrote in a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter. “My goals and dreams have been achieved and I am driven by those goals day in and day out. I now have a few new goals left to chase and see out.”
Passos reached 300 career wins earlier this year. He inherits a Euless Trinity program that finished 13–1 in District 3-6A for the district title and advanced to the second round of the 2024 UIL playoffs under coach Carlos Quintanilla.
“D’ville you will always and forever be my family,” Passos wrote in his statement. “Choosing to come to D’ville and [coach] my son was one of the best decisions of my life. I am forever indebted to D’ville, but it’s time for this gypsy to make a move.”
