A motorcyclist trying to evade a traffic stop was killed and two others were injured in a crash Thursday night in Grand Prairie.
It happened around 9 p.m. when a motorcycle heading south in the 1700 block of Belt Line Road hit a car turning left onto Kingston Drive from northbound Belt Line Road, police said.
Before the crash, a patrol officer noticed the motorcycle had no headlights or license plate and had run a red light, police said. The rider took off when a traffic stop was attempted.
The car flipped onto its roof on impact and the motorcycle burst into flames, police said.
The motorcyclist, who hasn't been identified, was killed instantly. The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man, was hospitalized in stable condition. A 42-year-old woman in the car was hospitalized in serious condition, police said.
Their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The crash, the ninth traffic fatality this year in Grand Prairie, is under investigation.
