SUV driver dies in crash on Loop 12 in east Oak Cliff

The other driver involved and a passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

A 66-year-old man was killed Tuesday night when a car crashed into his SUV on Loop 12 in east Oak Cliff, police said.

Edward Williams died at a local hospital after the collision shortly after 9 p.m. on East Ledbetter Drive, authorities said.

The crash took place about 9:10 p.m. when Williams tried to turn left onto Veterans Drive and his Chevy Tahoe was struck by a Ford Crown Victoria that was headed west.

The Ford struck the Chevy's right passenger door, Dallas police spokesman Carlos Almeida said. Williams was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
