Fort Worth shooting victim dies while being transported from stand-alone ER to hospital

Police said a private vehicle took the man to the care facility after he was shot.

A man was fatally shot early Sunday in Fort Worth, officials said.

Fort Worth officers responded about 1:30 a.m. to a stand-alone emergency room at 6006 Camp Bowie Blvd. Police said the man was brought to the facility in a private vehicle after he suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body.

When the man’s condition got worse, an ambulance was called to take him to a hospital. Police said the man died during the ambulance ride.

The shooting took place in the 4600 block of Dilworth Court, near Willis Avenue and Benbrook Highway, according to police. Fort Worth detectives are investigating.
