City manager, police chief in Ennis both step down abruptly

‘Significant issues’ are mentioned in a news release about the sudden job vacancies in the Ellis County town.

Citing “significant issues,” the town of Ennis accepted the sudden resignation of its city manager and the retirement of its police chief.

Scott Dixon was hired as city manager three years ago, and Police Chief John Erisman, 49, had been with the department since the 1990s, KDFW-TV (Channel 4) reported.

The Ellis County town wouldn’t specify what those issues were in a news release but said a change was needed, according to the station.
