37-year-old suspect on the run after Mississippi slaying arrested in Dallas County

A 37-year-old man who was wanted in Mississippi in connection with the shooting death of his girlfriend was arrested in Dallas County.

Darion Hill faces a murder charge and was booked into the Dallas County Jail at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday, according to jail records.

He was wanted in connection with the death of 21-year-old Quawanda Hicks, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds Dec. 26 near Port Gibson in Claiborne County, Miss.

Hicks had been reported missing by her mother a few days earlier, according to the Clarion Ledger in Jackson, Miss.

Hill was arrested by Dallas police, but few other details were available. He was wanted on charges of kidnapping and murder, the Ledger reported.
