Donate blood and get a free COVID-19 antibody test in these North Texas cities next week

Do a good deed: Donors are badly needed as the pandemic continues to cause shortages in the blood supply.

Irving will be among the cities participating in a regional blood drive next week as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to create blood supply shortages by forcing the cancellation of regular donation events at schools, workplaces and community centers.

Hosted by the North Texas Mayors Council, the Carter BloodCare drive is set for July 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Irving City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd., in the visitor parking lot along Rock Island Road.

Additional blood drive locations will be at Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas St., and Richardson City Hall, 411 W. Arapaho Road.
