Irving will be among the cities participating in a regional blood drive next week as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to create blood supply shortages by forcing the cancellation of regular donation events at schools, workplaces and community centers.
Hosted by the North Texas Mayors Council, the Carter BloodCare drive is set for July 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Irving City Hall, 825 W. Irving Blvd., in the visitor parking lot along Rock Island Road.
Additional blood drive locations will be at Fort Worth City Hall, 200 Texas St., and Richardson City Hall, 411 W. Arapaho Road.
All donors will receive a free Rangers baseball cap and COVID-19 antibody test, the results of which will be available online seven days after donating.
Appointments are required. Social distancing will be enforced at all sites, and donors will be required to wear masks.
