Garland temporarily freezes vaccine registrations after high volume of ‘no-shows’

The city still plans to hold a mass vaccination event this Wednesday.

Garland has temporarily closed its vaccine registration website after experiencing a high volume of no-shows at vaccination site appointments.

The city will be working to confirm appointments with over 20,000 registered people this week, according to a news release.

City spokesperson Dorothy White said it’s likely that residents and people outside the city are registering in multiple places and then forgetting to take their names off of Garland’s waitlist. The city is asking anyone on Garland’s vaccine list who gets vaccinated somewhere else to email GPH@GarlandTX.gov or call 972-205-3900 to remove their name from the city’s list.
