Grand Prairie Farmers Market — voted No. 1 in Texas — opens this weekend

The market will open Saturday with locally grown fruits, vegetables and more.

It’s spring, and that means farmers markets are returning.

One of the region’s favorites, the Grand Prairie Farmers Market, will open for the season this weekend.

Farmers and artisans will sell locally grown fruits and vegetables, plants, tamales, bread and baked goods, salsas, dips, relishes, eggs, honey, soaps, lotions, candles and more.

The market was voted No. 1 in Texas last year in the annual American Farmland Trust contest. The Winnsboro Farmers Market in Winnsboro, Texas, placed second and the Waco Farmers Market placed third in the state.
