McKinney municipal court is forgiving warrants through new program until May 21

Through May 21, the city is hosting a warrant forgiveness program, which is a change from previous warrant roundup efforts.

The new program helps residents resolve outstanding warrants with the McKinney Municipal Court.

“You won’t be arrested and you don’t have to bring any money with you,” Judge Claire Petty, McKinney’s presiding municipal court judge, says in a video the city produced about the program.

Petty said she will work with people who can’t afford to pay the regular $50 fee, whether it is through a payment plan or other means.
