Here’s how to register to vote in Mesquite’s November election and who is running

Dallas College’s Eastfield campus will host a voter registration drive Tuesday for November’s mayoral and city council election.

The League of Women Voters of Dallas will be at the Eastfield campus of Dallas College Tuesday helping Mesquite residents register to vote in November’s city election.

The registration drive will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Eastfield campus on 3737 Motley Dr. You can visit the Secretary of State’s Office webpage for more information about registering to vote. If you’re not sure if you’re registered, check your status.

Monday, Oct. 4 is the last day to register to vote and Election Day is Nov. 2. Early voting runs from Oct. 18 to Oct. 29.

District 6 councilman Dan Aleman and Ron Ward are running for mayor after Mayor Bruce Archer announced in June he would not seek reelection.

Sherry Wisdom, current councilmember said on June 25 she would not seek reelection. Joe Hicks, Jeff Casper, and David Jackson Burris are running for the District 1 place.

Incumbent Kenny Green will face challenger Dorothy Patterson in November.

City Council, District 3

Current Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem Robert Miklos announced in May he would not run again. Jennifer Vidler, Elizabeth Rodriguez-Ross and Ross Grimsley will face off for the open seat.

City Council, District 4

Incumbent Tandy Boroughs is seeking reelection against challenger Andrew Hubacek.

City Council, District 5

Incumbent B.W. Smith will face off against challenger Tom Palmer.

City Council, District 6

Debbie Anderson and Brandon Murden will vye for the open seat left my Aleman, who is running for mayor.
