Overturned 18-wheeler creates delays in Southlake Monday morning

The accident happened on Southlake Boulevard, near Carroll Senior High School.

An east-west artery in Southlake will be closed most of Monday morning because of an overturned tractor-trailer rig.

“We are hearing that eastbound Southlake Boulevard (right by Calloway’s Nursery) will be closed up to 4 hours. Please look for another route,” Southlake DPS tweeted just before 7 a.m.

The area where the big rig overturned is blocking all eastbound lanes along Southlake Boulevard, near the Carroll Senior and Carroll High schools. The police department was diverting all traffic to White Chapel Boulevard.

A heavy-duty wrecker was on its way at around 7 a.m., but the department said in a tweet it did “not have an ETA at this time.”

Carroll ISD also warned of delays Monday morning.

“Currently, there are traffic delays due to an accident on 1709 east bound at White Chapel. This traffic issue may impact bus pick-up and delivery. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to safely transport our students,” the district tweeted.

Drivers can detour by going south on South Peytonville Avenue to Continental Boulevard or going north to Dove Road to State Highway 114.
