Miniature pet pig goes missing in Grand Prairie; family pleads for his return

The family has filed a police report and will offer an unspecified reward for his return.

Jose Santana’s children had been begging for a puppy for months.

But when the Grand Prairie father learned that a friend’s miniature pig had a litter of babies, he knew his kids would love a pet pig.

Santana chose the smallest of the litter, a tiny black and white pig, and surprised his kids for Christmas. The family named him Chopper.

The pig’s backyard enclosure blew open, and he wandered into the front yard. A neighbor reported seeing people grab the pig, and surveillance footage from a nearby apartment complex shows a blue GMC truck pulling up and people getting out to try to catch the pig.

Santana filed a police report and said he will offer a reward if Chopper is returned, but declined to specify an amount.

“Whoever took him can remain anonymous,” he said. “We just want Chopper back. No questions asked. My kids are heartbroken.”
