Man killed in auto-pedestrian crash Saturday night on I-30, sheriff says

The man was pronounced dead by first responders. His name has not been released.

A man was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday night on Interstate 30, the Dallas sheriff’s department said.

Deputies were called about 8:45 p.m. to I-30, between Jim Miller Road and St. Francis Avenue, where a man had been hit by a Jeep. Investigators said the man, who used a cane, was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck.

The man was pronounced dead by first responders. His name has not been released.

No charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the Jeep, the sheriff’s department said.

A pickup truck also swerved to avoid hitting the man and crashed into the Jeep. No one was injured in the collision.
