Drone video shows Balch Springs grass fire engulfing neighborhood

A large grass fire spread Monday afternoon into a Balch Springs neighborhood where it burned 26 homes and destroyed nine, displacing families. Some people lost everything.

The Balch Springs fire spread at a time when firefighters across North Texas are battling devastating flames as drought and unseasonably high temperatures create dangerous conditions. Neighbors said other grass fires have flared in the area recently.
